Our journey started as a team of concerned citizens in Toronto who saw a huge potential to reduce and divert waste from high-rise residential buildings through sharing resources. We identified the need to be introduced and connected to your community in an increasingly isolated world by providing an online platform. We presented our idea at the 2018 Elevate Hackathon as a part of the Connected Communities stream. Our team won first place out of a group of 600 participants and 78 teams. The City of Toronto was a sponsor of the hackathon. Creating ‘Trusted Spaces’ online was a notion developed by our love for fostering new connections. We realized the need for an online platform for communities to network seamlessly. Based on our winning hackathon idea ,we were inspired to develop the platform for use by Canadians who are looking to grow their network.

Creating ‘Trusted Spaces’ online was a notion developed by Shabs’ and Frida’s love for fostering new connections. They realized the need for an online platform for communities to network seamlessly. This concept was further validated when Shabs and his team won the Elevate hackathon (2019) for this very idea.
